I wrote and delivered the curriculum for a 4 1/2 hour training course on Keynote ‘09.

background

I met Lynda at a conference not too long after finishing a consulting contract for Apple, where I and a small team put together the free online training courses that Apple posted at the time. Luckily, she was looking for someone to do a Keynote training for her, and I was offered the gig.

It also turned out that Apple was willing to let me use the same visual assets that were used for the in-house training videos we had just completed, which were high-quality photos and graphics from Ducati, all permissions granted. This was quite the additional stroke of luck, because it saved me weeks of time of putting together the right imagery and video footage to use in the course I was writing. This left me to develop the curriculum, create the exercise sample files, and script and rehearse the videos. I made the recordings, under the direction of a staff producer, at the company’s studios in Carpinteria. Like almost every training course of lynda.com, the videos are screen captures with my live narration.
