Call Emmy is a two-way marketplace company that provides on-demand, in-home, child and senior care services. I joined the 3-year-old company to lead the re-design of our platform and service offering in order to enable us to scale significantly. We are currently raising our first seed round to finance these efforts.

As we’re a small company in startup mode, my responsibilities cover all aspects of design: branding and corporate identity, user experience, print design and production, and digital asset management. I am also developing the brand voice that will be used in our messaging and advertising.

Given the re-design process is still in its early stage, our website and app are still operating in their original form, and will all be greatly enhanced when eventually launched. In the meantime, my portfolio examples will have to be limited to the work I’ve done so far that has been made public in some form.

Brand refresh

My initial focus was the redevelopment of the company logo, typography and color themes. I wanted to move the brand away from a strictly child-focussed theme to something more universal and distinct, as well as something that will yield a recognizable app icon and favicon when reduced in size.
